This is a personal video that was shot at Lake Mary in the Mammoth Lakes area. A local bear I call Mother Mary (because of the lake where she committed the offense of taking a fish off a fisherman’s line).
She is only doing what comes naturally to her and she’s teaching her cubs. Unfortunately, she’s a marked momma now for being a smart momma. She can’t see the big picture that she is now pictured as a danger to humans for potentially becoming a threat to them.
It is possible that Mother Mary might be killed by fish and game as soon as her cubs are old enough to fend for themselves, as she is teaching her cubs to steal fish off a human fishing line.
Mother Mary can’t see the big picture, but humans can grow and see how their ways of being can affect their big picture. We all at times need counseling so that we can grow and see the bigger picture in our lives.
